I was surprised to see on Facebook that the police were hot to run down Anita Baker and arrest her with a bench warrant.
If you were surprised to see on practically every social media platform that the Wayne County, Michigan police were looking to serve a bench warrant on 80’s R&B singer Anita Baker….so was she!
56 year-old Ms Baker was watching the local news the way most of us do…..except hopefully none of us will ever experience the shock she did, when a new report about her “wanted by the police” status was reported on. Shocked as Ms. Baker was…in a move telling of the times in which we live…she jumped on Twitter to alert her followers what she was doing about this piece of news.
“WHATTT??!!… sittin’ in the kitchen watching this on TV. BIG time crazy,” she wrote. “Atty on his way to TV Station. Devil sho is busy.”
Apparently Anita Baker owes a design company $15,000 for work done on her home. The design company want their money and they are not playing…..they set the law dawgz after the lovely Grammy Award winning songbird. The Wayne County circuit judge signed off on a bench warrant after Ms Baker was a no show at a creditor’s examination.
It’s funny Ms. Baker responded to the news of her impending arrest a whole lot faster than the court summons that started this whole thing.
