Gaslight Anthem – American Slang

In the midst of all the songs about the glitz and glam of celebrity life, it’s reassuring to listen to songs of people struggling to get through life and overcoming past regrets.

Gaslight Anthem’s follow up to their excellent second album, The ’59 Sound, is bound to be one of the best rock albums of 2010.

As you listen to American Slang you can tell these New Jersey rockers, who have taken cues from Springsteen, really poured their heart and soul into each and every song on the album. And the Jersey boys sure know how to rock and have really grown into their sound from their fast paced title track to their slow yet powerful closing track, “We Did It When We Were Young.”

Standout tracks include:

“Stay Lucky” About someone that was always successful, but as they get older, they find things aren’t so easy anymore and that they have to put effort into being successful.

“Old Haunts” Moving on with your life and letting go of the past.

American Slang is available in stores and for download at sites like Amazon and iTunes now. So if you’re in the mood for a great rock album inspired by the likes of Springsteen and Petty, be sure to pick this one up.
