Atoms for Peace- Amok

Experimental rock group Atoms for Peace released the debut album Amok this past February, receiving generally good reviews. Awarding the album 3 out of 5 stars, writer Alexis of The Guardian wrote: “As a technical exercise, Amok is hugely impressive … its sound is rich and deep, full of intriguing shifts and contrasts. But there are times when it feels the painstaking process used to create it may have assumed a greater importance than the business of actually writing songs … Still, when Amok works, the results are spectacular.” The positive feedback shouldn’t really come as a surprise though, since the band consists of amazing artists like Radiohead singer Thom Yorke, Red Hot Chili Peppers bassist Flea, Radioead producer Nigel Godrich, Joey Waronker of Beck and R.E.M., and Mauro Refosco of Forro in the Dark. If you’re not familiar with the group check out the songs ‘Default’ and ‘Ingenue’.
