Jessica Nunez known as Miss Jayy started her singing career at the age of 7. She initiated in church then went on to perform in shows from Elementary School up until High School. After she finished High School, she did several auditions including “The Voice” and “ The X Factor.” Then a manager from an RnB group name Aviance known as “The Bad Girls of RnB” discovered her and allowed her to be part of the group.
Since being part of the RnB group, Jessica has performed along with her two other female members in various states from Massachusetts to North Carolina and even in New York. The performances have occurred for example at Theatre of Living Arts, Howard Theater, Trocadero, Dell Music Center, The Great Plaza at Penn’s Landing and many more.
Aviance has been nominated for several awards like “Philly Hip Hop Awards.” “We also got recognized for the PHHA ‘Putting in Work’ best Artist/Group,” said Jessica. The group has won a few other awards outside of Philadephia.
By reason of joining Aviance, Jessica has loved sharing the stage with her two female members, whom she affirmed are “strong young women.” The fact that she gets to share the stage, the lyrics and emotions with them and especially the crowd is rewarding for her. She also shares that being able to create songs that people will sing aloud, cry, and dance along is an amazing feeling. “Music is everything, is therapy, is magical and I just simply have the opportunity to be so in love with it and by the grace of God being able to do music I like and have the best team near me is just simply dope! expressed Jessica.
