Bold, Bright, Beautiful Butch Diva

Brooklyn’s Tiffany Rhodes aka Butch Diva has risen to fame through her collection of bold, colorful, patterned clothing in the form of dresses, leggings and jumpsuits. She has become a trendsetter within a relatively short period of time through creating upbeat, outlandish yet stylish and comfortable clothing that speaks for itself.

It should be clarified here that Butch Diva is not only Rhodes’ alter ego’s name but also stands as the name and conveniently enough, description of not only her clothing line but also her ideal customer, who will take an instant liking to the sassy, head-turning and somewhat unconventional yet uplifting collection.

Butch Diva has embraced the idea of encompassing the feminine spirit with a touch of masculinity. The boyish undertones have given her clothing an edge while the girly prints and colors have overall appeal. Printed spandex with the wildest of patterns is her signature look, which has taken off due to the recent popularity of spandex and leggings in the fashion world.

With the aim of empowering women, Butch Diva has not only managed to build a brand name from scratch but has inspired females to turn their imagination and creativity into reality. Rhodes has always wanted women to feel empowered and to embrace their inner ambitions – having established a successful line of clothing, she has achieved both of these aspects. Becoming a success in the world of fashion is no small feat given the fierce competition both outside and within the established fashion circles.

The Butch Diva collection began with Rhodes discovering her mother’s portfolio, she then had her heart set on becoming a fashion designer. After attending FIT, she set up her Brooklyn studio which resembles a chic hippie art gallery and wholly reflects her artistic flair and fashion sense. A quick glance at the studio, will give even the most die-hard follower of neutral and natural fashion hues, if nothing else, at least a fleeting desire to adopt some form of color into their wardrobes. This desire was cleverly captured by her very own statement and slogan, “They all laugh ‘cause [sic] I’m different. I laugh harder ‘cause [sic] they’re all the same.”
