Although Couture Fashion Week was confined to the Grand Ballroom of the New Yorker Hotel, it’s collections reached across the globe. Various designers joined together under one roof to display the exotic treasures that define their differences. From gowns to jewels, the runway beamed with excitement for ‘over the top’ fashions from Marlene H’ Couture to Laila Wazna. Join in on the multicultural voyage I was all too excited to be apart of!
From America ….
Although she is fairly new to the fashion scene, Marlene or Marlene H’ Couture is quickly making a successful impression here in the US. She has participated in a number of fashion shows including the Plitz NYC Fashion Week and Dayton (Ohio) Fashion Week. She is also featured in a few fashion magazines, blogs, and exclusive boutiques. Marlene H’ Couture’s Avant Garde pieces in this year’s Couture Fashion Week is filled with lush fashions fit for a woman of class.
To South Africa …
Ooos and Ahhs echoed the ballroom’s walls as extravagent jewels from South Africa adorned models celebrating the Pearl Naidoo Jewelry Collection. Designer Pearl Naidoo’s inspiration for the compelling designs started from her father’s side of the family as everyone she grew up around excelled in their creative crafts. Today, her pieces are worn by respective celebrities like Beyonce, JoJo, Lucy Lui, and Cynthia Bailey from the hit reality show, “The Real Housewives of Atlanta”. Here are some of the South African creations that captivated all and will continue to do so this Fall.
To Lebanon …
Please excuse me, but my mouth waters as I recall the luxurious designs of Lebanese Amal Sarieddine! Words do not give the following collection justice but if I could express it in one word it would be, majestic! Unordinary designs of beautiful embellishments, encrusted jeweled heels, ethnic patterns of beading easily give the urge to pack and leave for the Lebanese sun!
To Saudia Arabia …
Welcome to Saudia Arabia! The rich designs of Laila Wazna lay the road clear through royal hues, traditional, and modern designs. Gems like Swarvoski crystals and sequinned embellishments pour all over each piece, dancing to the enchanted melodies that filled the ballroom.
Finally landing in Greece.
Did you know the area code of Greece is 30? So easily did Couture Fashion Week call up the Greek collection of Loula Loi Alafoyiannis just in time to showcase the Fall season’s most feminine outerwear. Floral patterns and graphic quirks mixed with the most playful colors will make covering up the upcoming season very enjoyable.
