Every night you watch the news, jammed packed with the daily atrocities that man inflicts upon one another. Home invasions, robbery, murder, rape, assault; you name it, the news features every crime known to man. Fear is instilled in your heart and mind. Not just regular fear but paranoia because most often the crime takes place in areas that you are familiar with. You work hard for your family and possessions, what would you do if some criminal tried to take all that away. You’re a law abiding citizen, but can the police really protect you? It doesn’t seem like it, after all look at the news. The crime is getting closer than ever, Mr. Smith’s sister in law came home and found 3 men inside her house trying to steal her TV. No one was hurt, thank God those guys ran out of there when she pulled out her .44. You wonder, how can I make it safer for me and mine? Light bulb: a gun.
Now you have your gun when you go to the Wall of mart at night, you feel safe because if any goon tries to rob you can just show it and they’ll scamper away. You feel secure, you go places where you have never been, you take more chances than usual, and hey you’ve got your gun you’re walking tall.
Mr. Jones tells you about a rash of petty theft in the neighboring subdivision. A meeting is held, how can we protect our community? Light bulb: Community watch, you join because you’re sick and tired of those people coming into your neighborhood and getting away with stuff. You’re a shoe in for the job; you have a car, and a gun for protection.
Night after night you patrol the perimeter, you know all your neighbors so if you see anyone that doesn’t belong you call 911, and you do; 7 times because 7 times a male walked through your neighborhood with bad intentions and got away as usual. What good is this police force? You decide to give them 1 more chance because surely this black guy wearing a hoodie is clearly up to something, for Christ’s sake can’t the cops see that he fits the bill !, you get out of your car although the police dispatcher says not to. You can’t help yourself because the shadowy figure that is brazenly walking through your neighborhood is going to commit a crime tonight. Not on your watch. You chase him, tackle him, his terror filled screams penetrate the night, you pull the trigger, you stood your ground. 46 days later you were arrested for murder, I ask who has the Juice now?
