Mariah is a fitness model residing in Australia. She pushes her limits every day and is ready to take the world by storm.
I had the honor in interviewing Mariah. Read below to learn what motivated her into becoming a fitness model.
1) What is your name? Where were you born and raised?
My name is Mariah or @fitnesscube. I was born in Mexico and raised in West Africa (Nigeria)
2) What inspired you to become a fitness model and bikini competitor?
The incredible sculpted bodies (glutes!) of the bikini competitors at the Olympia. The desire to feel healthy and strong. I was also very determined to overcome stage fright and shyness – what better way to do so than to sign up for a show?
3) How did you get into the fitness model industry?
Watching a friend in high school who lived and breathed World of Warcraft transform his body in a matter of months using weight training got me and my best friend to the gym. It just snowballed from there.
4) How many days per week do you work out?
5-6 days a week. The 7th being an active rest day outside of the gym.
5) What are your favorite exercies to do?
Weighted pulls ups, outdoor rope climbing, deadlifts.
6) Do you have a favorite hobby?
I have an abundant amount of interests outside fitness. First one is exploring (the outdoors, books, poetry, plays,art) and creating (painting, cooking). I also love a good rock concert.
7) What is your favorite food?
Eye Fillet steak in Red Wine Jus with sweet potato wedges or a soft centered chocolate fondant. What more could you want in life?
9) My Superhero Double Shot has the ability to create and manipulate coffee. If you were given the gift to have a super power, what would it be?
Teleportation! Time is invaluable, but I wouldn’t want to simply live indefinitely. Being able to get places faster would buy me more time and get me out of sticky situations without being a tooo crazy super power!
10) If you had to give all the young people out there some advice, what would you give?
The advice I would give is to spend time to really know yourself, and then use it to your advantage.

Progress. Do you keep track of your progress? Celebrating the little wins can mean the difference between feeling like you’ll never get to your goals and jumping out of bed to work towards them every day. Today I found this video of me (swipe right) after 4 years of consistent training. Dips were something I really struggled with. I couldn’t do them at all. I asked so many people for tips. Was it the grip? How I was leaning? They felt awkward, but mostly because of how weak I was. That video was a win for me at the time. Feet elevated and weighted. I was proud. I’m not naturally physically strong but I’ve always admired strong people, and set myself the goal to become strong.
