SE’s Comic Nook News: From the League to Legion! Katie Aselton Joins FX’s X-Men Spin-off

Word from EW states the FX comedy series’ actor will be joining the cast of Legion, an upcoming spin-off to the popular X-Men film franchise. Aselton will play the role of Amy, older sister of Dan Stevens’ David Haller, the show’s leading man. Aselton’s character is described as someone “who does her best to remain positive, which proves difficult when her brother has spent years in and out of hospitals after being diagnosed as a schizophrenic.”

As a series, Legion and its protagonist is described as;

“Diagnosed as schizophrenic at a young age, David is a haunted man, trying to find his way back to sanity, but he’s getting tired and is about to give up when he meets the girl of his dreams.”

 Aselton and Haller will be joined by Aubrey Plaza, Rachel Keller, Dan Stevens and Jean Smart.

 

Noah Hawley, with television credits including  Bones and Fargo, will write the series pilotas well as serve as an Executive Producer alongside Lauren Shuler Donner (X-Men: Days of Future Past, The Wolverine), Bryan Singer (X-Men: Days of Future Past, Superman Returns), Jim Chory (Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D., Marvel’s Daredevil) Simon Kinberg (X-Men: Days of Future Past, The Martain), Jeph Loeb (Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D., Marvel’s Daredevil) and John Cameron (Fargo, The Big Lebowski).

Legion’s pilot will be produced by FX Productions and Marvel Television, with FXP on physical production duties.
