News about the upcoming Marvel/Netflix show has been scarce for months now. Scarce to the point rumor even began to circulate about its possible cancellation. Today’s bit of SE’s CNN however — by way of EW and That Hashtag Show — puts such notions firmly in the ground. Game of Thrones actor Finn Jones has officially been cast to play the role Danny Rand in Marvel’s Iron Fist!
The fourth series scheduled in what has been a thus far stellar run for Marvel Television, the Iron Fist series will see Daniel Rand returning to New York City after being missing for years. There, he fights against the criminal element corrupting New York City with his incredible kung-fu mastery and ability to summon the awesome power of the fiery Iron Fist.
Scott Buck (of Dexter, Romer and Six Feet Under fame) is signed on to act as showrunner as well as executive producer.
Iron Fist will be available for streaming in it’s entirety on Netflix not long after Marvel’s Luke Cage, which premieres some time in 2016. Following the lot will be the mini-series event Marvel’s The Defenders, which will see Rand, Cage, Jessica Jones and Matt Murdock aka Daredevil finally unite.
