A casting update on Marvel’s now thrice rebooted Spider-Man film franchise. Actress, model and musician Zendaya’s role in the upcoming film, ‘Homecoming’, will be none other than Mary-Jane Watson!
Even those who have never picked up a Spider-Man comic know her to be the long-time romantic interest of Peter Parker, our friendly neighborhood web-slinger. Tom Holland made his debut as the third incarnation of the web-head in Marvel’s Captain America: Civil War, which stated in the post-credits scene he would return for more on-screen action.
Spider-Man: Homecoming will also star Marisa Tomei, Laura Harrier, Tony Revolori, Robert Downey Jr., Kenneth Choi, Donald Glover, Michael Keaton, Logan Marshall Green, Martin Starr, Hannibal Buress, Isabella Amara, Jorge Lendeborg Jr., J.J. Totah, Abraham Attah, Michael Mando, Bokeem Woodbine, Angourie Rice, Martha Kelly and Tyron Woodley
Vacation writers Jonathan Goldstein and John Francis Daley will provide the script and will be directed by Jonathan Goldstein. Production is set to begin on the film this summer in Atlanta with the film swinging into theaters and IMAX on July 7, 2017.
