Back in January 7, 2018, actor Sterling K. Brown won for Best Actor in a Drama TV Series name, “This is Us” and was actually the first black man to win at the Golden Globe Awards.
Although Sterling K. Brown had graduated from college with an Economic’s Degree, he reconsidered going back and did so because he wanted to become an actor. Therefore he went on to pursue a Bachelor’s Degree in Theater in 1998 and then graduated from New York University (NYU) with his Master’s Degree in Fine Arts in the year 2001.
In the past, he played in a variety of staged shows in the city of Los Angeles and New York City such as, “Father Comes From The Wars” (Parts 1, 2 and 3). His other staged performances have been in “Macbeth,” “The Brother/Sister Plays,” and “The Resistable Rise Of Arturo UI,” opposite “Al Pacino.” He’s also participated in TV Series name, “Army Wives,” “Supernatural,” “Person of Interest,” Masters of Sex,” The Mentalist,” “Castle,” and “Criminal Minds.”
He has also accomplished work in films like, “The Suspect,” “Righteous Kill,” Trust The Man,” “Spaceman,” and “Our Idiot Brother.” Not too long ago in the year 2016, Brown co-starred alongside Tiny Fey in the film “Whiskey Tango Foxtrot.” In October 2017, Brown was also in the film “Marshall.” He previously came out in the Marvel’s film “Black Panther,” which has already reached over $1 billion in sales and he will also be seen playing a part in the film “The Predator,” releasing in August 2018 and another film name, “Hotel Artemis.”
He has been nominated a few times and awarded for various acting projects. He actually won an NAACP Image Award for the “This is Us” TV Series. And in the year 2016, Brown portrayed prosecutor Christopher Darden in the television series “The People vs. O.J. Simpson: American Crime Story.” He won an Emmy Award and Critics Choice Award for the role he did. Several years ago he was also nominated for an Ovation Award for his participation for the Theater Play: “Father Comes Home From The Wars,” (Parts 1, 2, and 3).
Not only is Sterling K. Brown an actor but he is the husband to his college sweet heart Ryan Michelle Bathe who is an actress. They both had met while attending Stanford University. They have two sons together. Brown once told the magazine Essence that his marriage remains good for various reasons but specifically because “we crack each other up constantly!” stated Brown. Both Brown and his wife Ryan Michelle Bathe support each other in everything they do.
