The End of DACA

Many undocumented children as well as their parents are very disappointed. They are mad at Donald Trump ending the program (DACA). The program allowed many unauthorized immigrants to live and work in America.

A Mexican artist, Noel Torres briefly explained how his mother crossed the border of Mexico. Leaving behind his brother and him back in Mexico years ago. Twenty years later, Noel and his family are all residing in the United States. Although, Noel’s mother does not have papers and has not received her residency. Noel is proud of the opportunities America has granted him. Torres believes more needs to be done for those who are still illegal. Especially for the DACA dreamers.

A DACA Yale University student name Claritza, has explained that it isn’t fair how she is still not given the same opportunities at Yale University. She is undocumented in America. Now that DACA no longer is intact, she said that she will not give up and will continue to work hard. So she can become the lawyer she always dreamed of here in America.

Anterior president Obama found the end of DACA to be a cruel thing president Trump did. “To target these young people is wrong — because they have done nothing wrong. It is self-defeating — because they want to start new businesses, staff our labs, serve in our military, and otherwise contribute to the country we love. And it is cruel. What if our kid’s science teacher, or our friendly neighbor turns out to be a ‘dreamer?’ Where are we supposed to send her? To a country she doesn’t know or remember, with a language she may not even speak?”

There are 800,000 undocumented DACA participants and now they have to wait for at about six months in the hopes that Congress will support them.
