The fashion world will forever miss the tropical peppy brunette that cleverly turned a fruit stand business into a prestigious fashion label. Her primary intentions were to design dresses for her and her assistant that would camouflage orange and grapefruit stains instead of the old ‘housewife apron’ Teamed with Laura Robbins, an acquaintance from her hometown New York, and orders from a doctor stating, “You should find something to do” (because of an earlier emotional collapse) the fashion line grew quickly into a well known luxury for wealthy families for over 50 years! Although Lilly Pulitzer has recently passed, her fashions will always remain fresh and necessary for spring! Her voice continues to speak volumes through the following vintage fashions.

Lilly says: “The line wasn’t very extensive. The bodies, one was sleeveless and one had a sleeve. I mean everybody, they had to have them. Whether they fit or not, who cared? Just get one, I want it, I have to wear it to dinner.”

Lilly says: “It was a total change of life for me. I entered it with no business sense. It was just something that I all of a sudden took over. We focus on the best fun and happy things and people want that. Being happy never goes out of style.”
