Today marks the bands release of the album, “Sun Will Rise” & I got the early copy last night & let it sing me to sleep. Their sound is something I’m finding more commonly on the indie-rock music scene, which I can say I’m pretty happy about. They’re not in your face screaming necessarily, but they do perform with purpose. The band consist of the members; Mike McFadden (lead vocals, guitar, and banjo), Anthony Saladino (bass), Kevin Johnson (keys)(who celebrated a birthday yesterday), Anthony Spinnato (drums), and Matt Indellicati (guitar).
Them being Brooklyn based is what caught my attention at 1st, then after listening to the album, the fact that they truly embrace the indie rock sound kept my attention. If I had to pick a favorite track, it might be “Forget What They’re Telling You”. It’s light enough for it to be accessible, but the lyrical content has a little more meaning than expected. Which excited me, and instantly turned me into a fan.
The guys have an album release party tonight at the Rockwood Music Hall in Manhattan that starts at 7:00 p.m. Don’t miss it!
