Accusations of sexual harassment and rape against Bill Cosby have came to light in the past year. Some of us were already aware of the ugly accusations, but for most of the population, this is all recent news. 35 women have come forward and shared their stories of abuse at the hands of the formerly beloved television actor and comic. This Thursday, September 17th, these women will be given an hour-long special on A&E. The special promises new information about the case, as well as a deeper look into the investigation against Cosby.
While of course, as a third party observer its hard to say what really happened, in terms of he said, she said; it should mean something that dozens of women are coming forward. Among those who spoke out are model Beverly Johnson, Janic Dickinson, actress Louisa Moritz, and publicist Joan Tarshis. In July, a previously sealed 2005 deposition was released in which Cosby admitted to giving these women sedatives, but insisted it was only with their permission. Cosby also alluded that he was a mind reader and could nonverbally work out that these women wanted to have sex with him. “I think I’m a pretty decent reader of people and their emotions in these romantic sexual things, whatever you want to call them.” Prettttttttty gross and rapey, if you ask me.
You can check out the special, titled, “Cosby: The Women Speak”; this Thursday September 17th, on A&E at 9pm EST.
