When it comes to love this Spring, the writing is spray painted on city walls and bursts out the seams of doodled notebooks. This season, graphics jump from their normal habitats and into stores near you to vow for your affection.
“Love Me” is all NYC artist, illustrator, and photographer Curtis Kulig wants you to do as he pours his undying profession all over NYC and LA streets. Perhaps you’ve seen his passionate campaign scripted from the tops of buildings to attention grabbing billboards. Or maybe you’ve found his profession “Love Me” all over Vans sneakers and Smashbox Cosmetics. This bold movement surprisingly started as a mere teenage daydream. Kulig explains, “Love Me is something I used to scribble in my notebooks as a teenager. I never dreamed it would become my signature mark and lead me to becoming an artist.”

When you think of romance what comes to mind? Kisses? Chocolate? Rose petals? Well sappy designer Prabal Gurung thinks romance is simply seeing a woman wear his designs. In fact he falls in love with the idea so much that he decided to introduce his designs after his own name to Target stores nationwide (talk about love right around the corner!) His romantically graphic designs range from neon floral dresses to purses covered in graffiti and for the grown and sexy he presents lace up pumps he names ‘Meet the Parents’. This idea behind the Prabal Gurung collection is the reminiscence of the courting stages from love’s first kiss to finding Prince Charming. “The whole idea of going through the ups and downs of a relationship all the possible emotions-I think
that’s the most beautiful thing.” This blissfully romantic collection hits stores February 10th just in time for Valentine’s Day! Hit up your nearest Target and treat yourself!
Oh! And P.S:
Have you heard of London designer, Mary Katrantzou? Since she collaborated just recently with label ‘Current/Elliot’, her unique designs are literally signed, sealed, and delivered! Katrantzou’s Spring 2013 runway show inspired CEO and creative director Serge Azria to incorporate the postage stamp and banknote prints as well as the mixed playful silhouettes and denim washes she used. “This collaboration has something for everyone. I would love to be walking down the street and see girls mix and match it and how they style it.” This collection beats snail mail as it has been shipped and delivered to selected stores and online.
